No running today or yesterday.  Both my calf strain and knee are ticked about the hard effort on Monday.  Knee was really painful yesterday, hurt to even walk normal, calf is super sore today.  Knee feeling much better today. Whine, whine, whine! Cleaned the dust off my bike, put air in the flat tires and managed to remeber how to clip into my peddals for a good 1st real bike ride of the season yesterday.  Felt good despite the wind. 25 miles and no saddle time for 8 months = sore! 20.2  avg mph for 20 miles and had 5 or so slower through traffic.  Hope I can get in a few runs Fri/Sat before winding down for Squaw Peak 50 in 10 days. Geeze, that came up fast!

Wow, That's a solid pace on the bike for not riding for 8 months! Especially in wind. I hope your knee and calf recover fully for the race next week. Its nice to be able to get out on a bike when the running legs hurt or need a break.

Thanks Aaron. The ride was wide open and flat, so not too fast really. I think climbing strength from running and cycling strength are kinda similar?, so that helps. The wind wasn't a big deal, it was like 17 mph into the wind, 19-20 across the wind and 22-24 with. Now I remeber why I used to pay close attention to which way and how storng the wind was everyday . . .nice to be a runner now and not have to worry about all that stuff. Plus the gear! geeze, it took me 15 minutes to get everything on and out the door, running is like 2 minutes.

I agree with the ease of getting out on a run...especially when you haven't been biking much, then just gathering the gear takes me 15 minutes, then I have to put it on, then I have to fix my flat tire. An hour later...:)
